Wrapped Up, Not Shaped Up

Whew! What a day. My work day dragged in the morning, but my afternoon was quite hectic and I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. After work I had to run a ton of errands and was completely wiped! As soon as I got home and settled, I did a lot of stretching and a took a bubble bath. It felt amazing. After my soothing bath, I wrapped up dinner.

I made wraps using romaine as the wraps. I filled the romaine with sliced turkey, spinach & artichoke hummus, pickles, mozzarella cheese and tomato. I had carrot fries on the side.

I haven't made romaine wraps in a long time and now I think I'm hooked again. I want more! hahaha!

Have you guys seen these stupid butt shaping sneakers? I had read this post on Copyranter a few weeks ago about Reebok's Reetone ads, then I saw this commercial today.

Really Joe Montana? You're mortgage payment is so high you've resorted to endorsing this crap? Really?! Come on, who believes that sneakers with lifts in them are going to help you get in shape? The only way someone is going to get in shape by wearing these Shape Ups is by working out in them and the results aren't going to come from the sneakers. You get in shape by working out and breaking a sweat. I'm sure they'll make money off these things though. Some people are always looking for a quick fix and now thanks to Skechers, those people will think they've found it in a sneaker. Dumb. What do you think about Shape Ups?

ok i had to comment because im running an MBT "anti shoe" raffle on my blog right now!

i think the idea that these shoes can help you lose weight are ridiculous. however, MBT does have a ton of research (i read a lot of it) that proves the shoes actually reduce pain in your back and knees. which i can totally see how it would work!

but yea, even on my post, i didn't mention the claims that it burns more calories walking in those shoes as opposed to regular shoes - like, it can't be that great. maybe an extra calorie for every ten burned?

I just think they are UGLY...I'm sure they'll spread like wildfire though. I see them everywhere now.

I so need a hot bath now! sounds so nice!

I have heard that those shoes give you better posture and do work your butt, but those comments were from people who usually do not work out at all, so maybe for them it does help? like better than not working out at all?

I've seen a ton of people wearing those at work. I think they look pretty silly, hehe.

Those wraps look good...I might have to steal that idea and start making myself lettuce wraps for lunch!

I just think they look ridiculous, and why does an ex-football player need to be endorsing them?!?!

Haha, I'm glad you said something about these - terrible. I saw them in an article in this months Shape about getting in shape for "lazy" girls. Tips included drinking lots of low carb Fuze drinks and buying these sneakers. Ummm...right.

Bubble baths are the best! The shoes...a scam! I can't stand any of these stupid marketing schemes! Getting in shape might be hard work, but not rocket science. Exercise and eat well! The claims are craziness!

I wish they didn't try to make these shoes look cool- they don't- it's like wearing moon boot sneakers- not cool, maybe in the 90s... probably not even then..

Several of my patients wear these and swear by them! I dunno! I think they look a little moon-shoe-ish, but whatever works!

These shoes and their commercials are annoying. Especially the Reebok Easy Tone ones. I posted something about that one a while back because it made me so angry!

My sister wants them lol

I agree with everyone else...the sneakers look so silly. I haven't actually seen anyone wear them.

I still haven't tried making carrot fries! I need to get on that!

Love the carrot fries!

Those sneakers look silly...not something I would spend money on. Buy good running or exercise sneakers. Like you said - a better workout.

A romaine wrap - what a great idea!
