I'm not sure if or when I'll be able to eat my lunch today (because of my teeth), but I snapped a few pictures before I packed it up to bring to work with me. So here's what I might be eating for lunch:
Turkey, plain Greek yogurt, spinach, pickles, and spinach & artichoke hummus on a whole wheat wrap.
Yummy strawberries for dessert!
I'm planning on using Friday's posts for guest bloggers. I have a few lined up to share their stories about their struggles with disordered eating at various phases from being in recovery to post recovery. I think the different perspectives would be interesting and something we could learn from. I don't have a guest blogger lined up for today, but wanted to bring your attention to this article. The article says that experts are reporting a rise in women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s seeking treatment for eating disorders. The National Eating Disorder Assocation reports that one-fourth of hospital stays in 2005-2006 were for people 30-45 years old and 15% were for those 45-64 years old. The main reason given was once their kids were out of the house, they no longer felt distracted with parenting and focused on food instead. This makes sense to me because eating disorders are all about controlling something in your life when you feel like your life is out of control. I imagine a mother would feel worried about their child going off to college or starting a family of their own and cope those feelings by developing or relapsing back into an eating disorder. I wonder if today's economy has also had an effect on the rise in numbers. What are your thoughts on this article?

That gives me chills just thinking of the dentist working on your mouth. Hope it feels better!
Hope you are in less pain now! Your wrap looks good! Never thought to add yogurt to turkey! I will try that. Excited for the future guest blog posts about disordered eating since I can relate.
I hope this article raises awareness so maybe more older women will go for treatment and not consider it a "young persons" problem.
Hope you feel better soon, I'm sorry you're in pain :-(
:( Sorry about your tooth pain. I hope you feel better soon.
I say Wahhh like Snookers all the time now. Hahaha.
Oooh...so sorry you had dry socket!! EEKS!
Hope your mouth feels better quick!
I think thats really interesting about "older" people getting eating disorders. I definitely see your point about women who's kids move out of the house. Personally I feel so much more secure with myself now than I did as a late teenager/early 20something, but I think like you said it's probably more about control than insecurity, so it can probably be a problem at any age! It's definitely important to realize it's not just high school girls (and college) that have this problem. I bet your guest posts will help with that :)
I'm so sorry you're in pain man :(
Oh you poor thing! I hope you are feeling better as the day goes on. Sending you get well vibes :)
I freaking despise the dentist- and I'm so lucky to never have had to go through having dry sockets- you're my hero- I would not have been running this am with that coming at me right after!
Bone sticking out? OW :( I hate the dentist and that sounds like torture. Will wine help...? :) Try to have a good weekend, and hope that mouth gets to feeling better soon!
I hope you were able to eat that delicious looking sandwich and strawberries - I haven't had a strawberry in months and those look great.
Can't wait for summer!
How did you have a bone sticking out?!? Feel better!
