My teeth were finally feeling a little bit better last night. I've been craving something with crunch for a long time now and thought my teeth were ready to handle something more than mush. I decided to eat the last Lean Cuisine Spinach & Mushroom Pizza that was in my freezer. It wasn't gluten free, but one pizza isn't going to make a difference and I hate wasting food.
Oh, this guy was delicious! I think I enjoyed it so much because it's the first time in weeks that I haven't been in complete agony when trying to eat something of substance. Yay! I think the dry sockets are almost gone. I have an appointment this afternoon to get them checked (I just went on Friday too). Hopefully, I won't have to go back and I can keep on enjoying normal meals like this. Well, a gluten free version next time of course.
I started today off on a healthy note with a 30 minute torture session with the elliptical and I'm going to do Core Fusion Pure Arms & Abs after work. Remember how I was concerned about how the elliptical makes my butt bigger while running seems to lean my lower body out? I was curious to see if I was the only person this happened to. I consulted my Bible...Google. I Googled "elliptical gives me a big ass" and it turns out, I wasn't the only one with this issue. There were a ton of workout forums filled with people asking the same question. Some answers said yes and some said no, of course no one had any research to back up their info. However, I did find this article written by a personal trainer, Jillian Horton, answering the question. Jillian says that people might think they're getting a bigger butt because the fast twitch muscle fibers are recruited and they have potential to increase in size. Just because they have potential to increase, doesn't mean they will. She says that if that were the case, anyone who engages in physical movement that requires short bursts of energy would be bulked up. I believe Jillian since she's a pro, but I also believe that everyone responds differently to different exercises. I think my booty will be okay. Exercise isn't going to make it grow, eating too many calories will.

I can't remember the last time I had pizza...probably a month ago. I'm so jealous of yours! hehe. My mission is to have pizza at some point this week. :)

I've never used the eliptical long enough to find out what it would do to my ass. But lucky enough I haven't lost it due to running.

Good looking pizz! And I'm with Mo Diva, what's wrong with a big booty? I love what exercise has done for my booty--rounded it and plumped it a bit! But, you gotta do what you look for your body ya know!
I'm glad you were able to eat real food!! Mush is fun to eat, but you need a lil crunch in there too. I like having a big ass, it's better than a pancake/shelf ass! Those are weird looking.

I'm working to make my upper and lower body asymetrical. I don't need my ass any wider than it is. Everyone has different goals. You have yours, I have mine.
I feel ya - if my thighs/ass get any bigger, I will look like I have a shrunked head. I take all precautions to SHRINK those things.
That pizza looks so good. I haven't had one of those since college! Interesting about the big butt thing. I was wondering that about spin. I guess it depends who you are.

I would be upset too if I noticed a certain exercise was not giving me the results that I was looking for. I think maybe you should lower the resistance on the elliptical...I think that might help. Your booty might be getting bigger because it is growing more muscle.
and YES you need to come to nyc AND bring Bebbeh! I am sure he will drink us under the table ha
Its amazing what you can google! I like the elliptical, but its not for everybody. Do what you enjoy and what gives you the results you want :)
Haha I love google! I don't have any problems with the elliptical making my butt bigger, but I do have issues with my arms getting bigger from lifting so I definitely hear you. Like you said, our bodies all respond differently to different things.
yep, shes right, the elliptical machine does not make your butt bigger...when you do higher intensity, shorter bursts of any activity, this does activate the fast twitch fibers. THink about the difference in legs btwn marathoners and sprinters. SPrinters tend to have bigger quads, very muscular..where as marathoners tend to be a bit leaner...this is because sprinter train their fast twitch fibers the majority of the time...the same goes for body builders vs the average guy lifting weights...huge muscles vs less intense muscles....the higher intense fast bursts active those fast twitch. The best thing I could tell you is to mix it up! some days go intense, short bursts, other days go longer endurance! I thikn you do do this, so you're all set!
google is my bible too. i use it for everrrrrything. my friends and i always joke when we're confused about something "um, should we google this?" haha
