A Chocolate Cheerio Slumber

Hi everyone! I hope your day is going well. I started my day off with a 5 mile run on the treadmill. I'm not sure why, but it flew by! It seemed like I was done almost as soon I started. I credit the extra hours of sleep I got last night. I went to bed at 9. I usually go to bed around 10:30, but my eyes were closing on me while I was watching tv and I figured why force myself to stay awake? There wasn't anything good on tv and I was just watching a dvr'd episode of GH, so I went sleepies. It's funny that just an extra hour can make such a difference.

Before I went to bed, I was sure to have my bedtime snack with the chocolate Cheerio's!

I crushed them up a little bit and mixed 1/4 cup of chocolate Cheerio's with a vanilla Chobani. Before I dug in, I stuck my snack in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds. You might think it's strange, but I always do this when I mix cereal with Chobani. It thickens the yogurt a little and makes the cereal all warm and kind of gooey. The chocolate Cheerio's were delish! I've only had Cocoa Puff's twice in my life, but I remember what they taste like. The Cheerio's tasted like a less sweet version. I can't think of anything else to compare them to. They're very good though! Heating them up made them warm and they absorbed a bit of the yogurt too. It was a kickass dessert. I'm going to have it again tonight!

I have exciting news, I'm going to Nashville, TN at the end of this month for a few days! I've never been and am very excited. I hope I have time to see The Grand Ole Opry! If you've been to Nashville or live in the area, what are some hip, hop and happening restaurants I should check out? Thanks!

Nashville! How cool!

I'm not sure about chocolate cheerios. I'm a cheerios purist.

Yum, that does look like a great dessert.

I kind of forced myself to stay awake last night and wish that I had just gone to bed instead! Its totally worth feeling fresh and ready to go. :)

Chocolate Cheerios?! Food blogs piss me off- it's like boasting all the cool foods you can't get in canada- I've got a list of about 15 things I want from down there- and it keeps getting longer

Have fun in Nashville!

I go to bed whenever I start to feel sleepy. Sometimes 9, sometimes 10, sometimes 10:30, sometimes 8:30. I guess that's what happens when you wake up at 5am Monday-Friday, haha. It's kinda nice to just go pass out whenever, though! I'm one of those people who needs a lot of sleep to function, so an hour makes a HUGE difference for me!

Nashville will be so fun! My bff went to Vanderbilt and I visited her there a few times...but that was about 6 years ago! Very fun town!

Sounds like you had a great run...maybe it was the cheerios the night before :-)

Love the chocolate cheerios! I keep forgetting to put them in yogurt - thanks for the reminder!

Have fun in Nashville - I have only been to the Opryland Convention center - unfortunately I have never had the time to explore Nashville.
