Booty Building

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was fabulous. I woke up early this morning and did 45 minutes on that torture device, the elliptical trainer. I'm trying to bulk up my booty and for whatever reason, the elliptical bulks up my lower body while running thins it out. I am so sore! I hate that machine with a passion! My legs are NOT happy with me, but if it means I'll have an ass like Kim Kardashian, it'll be worth it. I think I'll go back to the treadmill tomorrow though. There's no way in hell I'm doing that two days in a row!

I don't have anything exciting to report from the weekend. I was sick with a head cold and it turns out that the reason one of the teeth I had pulled is still bothering me is because I have a dry socket. Most of the weekend was spent eating mush and putting clove oil and gauze in the socket. This nightmare better end soon because if not, I'm going in for a face transplant. Any suggestions for what I should go with for a new face? By Sunday night, I had had it with eating mush and went all in with my favorite dish.

My homemade healthy whole wheat mac & cheese, roasted brussels, and honey mustard bbq chicken. I overcooked the sprouts a bit to make them softer and cut up the chicken so it was easier to chew. My belly was happy!

I was forwarded a link from my friend Sue (hey lady!) yesterday containing this article she thought MelissaNibbles readers would be interested in. The article is about a 17 year old named Constance and her struggle and current recovery from anorexia. I like this article because it offers insight into both Constance and her family's experience with the eating disorder. If you know someone who's suffering or recovering from an eating disorder and are unsure of how to help them, it might be helpful to read an account of someone else's experience.

What machine do you hate at the gym?

I'm sorry you've been so uncomfortable all weekend. I hope you get some relief today.

I like the elliptical because I can read and watch tv on it.

I'm the complete opposite of you! I love the elliptical and hate the treadmill. For some reason, I suck at running and feel like I'm going to die almost immediately but I can crank out 45 minutes on the elliptical no problem. I did 45 minutes this morning as well. :)

Sorry it was definitely a dry socket...I was hoping I was wrong when I tweeted that as a possible reason for the pain. :( Hopefully the clove oil helps! I can imagine that's pretty painful. :(

I really love the elliptical, actually! I like that you can set different programs on it to target different muscles. There's an awesome fat burner program on the ellipticals at my gym. It always leaves me sweaty and feeling great! I think maybe it's something you will learn to love!

Thats so funny, the elliptical is usually my "easy" workout, while I struggle with the treadmill! I always try to run, though, because I feel like I get more of a workout :)

That's intresting I prefer the ET over treadmill, but it took me sometime to learn to love ET.

I hate Ellipticals w/ arms that move. I don't know why cuz I'll use a Cybex with moving and stationary arm rests. but NOT the Ellipticals!

I'm with you - HATE the elliptical! It's so boring and my feet always go numb! I try to run outside as much as I can, but if I'm forced onto cardio equipment its the spin bike or the treadmill.
