Visiting Madam Zoltar

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas. My Christmas was one of the best I've had in quite a long time. It started out with gifts in the morning. Not to make it all about the gifts, but I got everything I asked for! Vanilla Bean Noel lotion from Bath & Body Works, gift cards to Ann Taylor Loft & The Limited, a very cool book about shopping in and cooking from farmer's markets, a home manicure set, and the biggest surprise of all...a CHI!!! Now I can straighten my hair like a pro! I made out like a bandit. The rest of the morning was spent watching the Disney Christmas Parade. I hope to spend Christmas at Disney sometime in the near future. It looks so fun and magical. I love Disney! After a relaxing morning, I headed over to see my friend and her family. We had a smaller group than usual, but fun nonetheless. We talked and watched the season finale of "Glee" because we're obviously very cool like that. I didn't eat there because I had been having some, uh, stomach issues. Her mom made fun of me using their bathroom so much, but then took pity on me and packed up some vegan stroganoff to take home with me. It was amazing! She's going to email me the recipe. I know it was simple and the main ingredients were vegan sour cream and vegan butter. I'm going to try to make it on my own, then I'll post it.

Today I woke up early again. I was happy about it though because I needed to get a few errands done in the morning before the stores were too packed. After drinking a STRONG cup of coffee, I made my way up to the gym. I ran 5 miles in 42:35. It was a great run. I credit Lady Gaga for getting me through it. After grocery shopping, I used my new Chi Hair Staightener for the first time. The results were amazing. I usually blowdry my hair straight with a round brush first, but I think I could just use the Chi on dry, wavy/curly hair without having to spend the time under the dryer. Thanks for telling me about the Chi guys! My life has been forever changed.

My oats were off the wall like Michael Jackson today.

1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese, 1/2 of a fat free vanilla pudding snack, bananas, cinnamon, a few chopped Ghiradelli 60% Cacao Chips and the star of the dish...White Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter! I've been wanting to try this product forever, but couldn't find it anywhere. My friend Kara gave me a jar for Christmas. That girl knows me too well :)
It was like frosting on my oats and y'all know how I love my frosting.

Tonight I met up with my friend (and yours) Julie. We're both into horoscopes and psychics so we went to a psychic together! We went to Open Doors in Braintree, MA for our readings. This is me all scared to go inside:

My reading went well though. I was just scared they were going to tell me I was going to lead a lonely life as a cat lady in my apartment. Well, she said I don't have to worry about choking on my dinner and dying in my apartment. Things look good in my love, work, and health sectors. She said that I would let go of my issues with family (which I've discussed here before) and just accept that things aren't my fault and that I'd stop trying to fix everything and just let things go. I've already kinded of started doing that. It'd be a HUGE stress relief if it was something I could truly let go of. Even though the reading was general, there were a lot of things that put me at ease. I think 2010 is going to be positive year.

After our psychic connections, Julie and I went to Uno's for dinner.

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, but I love Uno's. Did you know they were voted the healthiest chain restaurant? Our waiter was very accommodating because I was a big pain in the butt and made a million changes to my salad. I ordered the Spinach, Chicken & Gorgonzola Salad, but I substituted shrimp for the chicken, asked for no walnuts, no onions, added grilled mushrooms, and had the dressing on the side.

I don't know what that carrot thing is, but it's pretty. The salad was bigger than my face and I ate most of it. It was so nice to have some fresh veggies for dinner. As always, I had a great time with Julie. We gossiped, talked about our readings, and brainstormed new ideas for our blogs. She's also letting me borrow the book, The Secret. I can't wait to read it. I hope I find the secret...whatever that is.

I'm off to watch The Wire on dvd. I'm very late to the party on this show, but I'm hooked. I normally don't like cop shows because they're all the same episode after episode, but this sh*t is insane! I never know what's going to happen next. Good night!

Christmas in Disney would be too cool. I'm so jealous of my 8 year old cousin. I can't even count how many times he's gone but it's way more than me

Was that Glee from a couple of weeks ago? I haven't watched in a few weeks because I thought they said they weren't going to be back until Spring. I'm so confused!

I'm glad your psychic reading went well- I've never done that but it sounds kind of fun (as long as they don't tell you everything is going to be bad haha)

I want to go to Disney at Christmas time too!! It's on my "bucket list". I looked up the upper crust, and they look interesting to say the least! They are cool though, I like people who march to the beat of thier own drum!
I had fun tonight, I hope you enjoy the secret!!

Your hair looks great. I'm a CHI believer. I am also a big fan of Disney - I haven't been there since I was 14, but it was an absolute blast.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Haha, the wire was filmed in my hometown, and I think one of my sisters teachers wrote for it or something (she was a film student in Bmore at one point). Looks like a fun time with the psychic. I have done that once, but sadly I was drunk at a club in Vegas so I remember nothing. I am guessing that was the point. Your experience seems cooler than mine, for sure! Glad you had a nice holiday and got some good gifts.

That is exciting about the psychic! I would be scared to go because they might tell me my life will be a failure haha.

oooh I've wanted to see the Wire, but I feel like it is a big commitment! ;-)

Glad you made out well this year!! The Chi sounds amazing. I've been blowing my hair dry with a round brush lately, and from what you said about the Chi I may need to think about getting one. My arm gets so sore after 10 minutes of blowing it dry!

Your salad looks so delicious. Glad you had a good blogger meet-up and dinner.

Have a great Sunday!

Glad you are not going to be a cat lady! My mom just got a cat. She's getting another next week. We told her over Christmas if we come over and she's having a tea party with the cats, we'll do an intervention! :D

Happy Holidays!

I havent been to a tarrot card/psychic since college when she told me horrible things were going to happen to me (which they didn't). It freaked me out!

Looks like you had a great dinner with Julie - I love it when waiters/waitresses are so accomodating!
