Rainy Day Women

Per usual, it's raining on a Saturday here in Boston. Good thing I sucked it up and went running yesterday right? Nothing says rest day like pouring rain. My rainy day oats were perfect.

I mixed 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, raisins, strawberries, and PB Loco Cookie Dough Peanut Butter. A hodge podge of ingredients, but tasty nonetheless.

How did you spend your Saturday? I had a bit of ladies night and met up with Melissa and Shannon. We met at a favorite of Shannon's, Nourish in Lexington, MA.

Nourish prides itself on providing a menu of whole foods made fresh daily from local vendors. Their menu has everything from falafel to bbq ribs. I chose The Big Baby Salad.

The Big Baby contains greens, sliced pears, gorgonzola, walnuts, and I had balsamic vinaigrette on the side. It was delicious and quickly became my food baby. I had a great night with Shannon and Melissa. It's nice to have met other women I have so much in common with.

I'm sad this picture came out blurry. The waitress must've had the shakes or something. I hope everyone had a great Saturday. I plan on lifting and either using the elliptical or running on the treadmill in the morning. Oh and I have to do laundry...blech. Good night!

I hate when people shake while taking photos! Just hold still for a second folks!! My photo in Ted Kennedy's office was blurry for that reason :(

That salad looks delicious, haha. Glad I ordered the same thing!

Can't wait to see Shannon's version of the pic so we're all in focus.

I wish we had more places like Nourish on the south shore. All we have are dunks and pizza joints!

@Julie: Where do you live on the south shore?

That restaurant looks great. If I am ever in the area I would try it. If I ever fly commercial off the island (I usually fly military) there are direct flights to Boston. Lots of Azoreans in the Fall River area. You should try Azorean cuisine one day if you have the chance, but it is hard to find something veggie and I am not sure if you eat fish, but if you do, then give it a try.
