Blogger Blackboard

We did it! We made it through the first day back after a long holiday weekend. The rest of the week will be a breeze now. I'm happy to report that I was able to take advantage of Cyber Monday one more time and bought a present for someone. I felt much better putting my credit card number in yet again when it was for somebody else :)

I've been craving salty foods lately and tonight's dinner was designed to feed that craving without going overboard with the salt shaker or opening a bag of chips.

I grilled a Helen's Kitchen Tofu Chicken Steak and smeared a little plain Oikos on top for a dressing. For my sides, I steamed 1/2 cup of mixed veggies and mixed 1/2 cup of brown rice with a few squirts of low sodium soy sauce. The soy sauce killed my salt craving instantly. I think I might've just been dehydrated. I've read that your body can crave salt when it's dehydrated and I also drank about four glasses of water after dinner so there's that...

This is completely off topic, but that's okay. I'm a big fan of The Simpson's. Actually, more of a big fan of anything Simpson's before the year 2000 or so. The episodes and the movie after that year...meh. I do still watch though and always make sure to catch the opening credits just to see what Bart has written on the blackboard. Now I can just check out the new blog, Bart's Blackboard to find out what he wrote! This blog has every phrase Bart has had to write on the blackboard. After perusing the site, I started thinking that healthy living bloggers need a blackboard! Here, I'll start: I Will Not Be Embarassed Of My Sweet N' Low Consumption.
Your turn in the comments!

hmm I gotta think about thing one...I am not afraid that sometimes I like to watch FITTV workouts and just watch them...not participate :)

I sometimes CRAVE salty foods too! I also head for salty PB (obviously!) or pretzels!

I will not feel bad about skipping a day (or two) of blogging!

:) I love the Simpson's too. Have a great night, lady.

I will not apologize for unphotogenic food. it aint my fault pumpkin + lots of cinnamon = poop.

Tofu chicken steak looks and sounds pretty good. Where did you get this?

I ate a bag of chips today - I still think I am dehydrated as well.

My blackboard post: Christmas shopping does not mean buying presents for myself.

I will not be ashamed that I am counting down the days until I can get my hands on a pumpkin pie latte from Starbucks...

I agree with not feeling bad if I skip a day or 2 of blogging. My life can get too hectic. Let me point out I just finished teaching a nutrition class online and it is 3:18 am here.

That's hilarious!! I love that idea. Ok here is mine, "I will not kill my boss for making me wake up at 5 am for the next three days, and work until 7pm".....

I didn't know salt cravings could mean dehydration. Is that why I'm always craving salt when I'm hung over?! haha, yeah!

It's sad to seee blogger guilt. But I feel it too when I eat processed foods or skip a day of blogging. Today, I had some cool whip on my sugar-free pudding. The horror!

That tofu sounds good. Is the recipe from a book?

I used to love the Simpson's too :)

I love all these!

@kilax: No, you can find Helen's Kitchen products in the frozen foods section of your grocery store.

Hah, I love this idea!! My ex was obsessed with the Simpsons so I have seen pretty much every episode ever. They are definitely amusing!

I will not use pay day as a reason to buy myself more clothes! Stop the spending madness!

Ha! Love that there's a blog about what Bart write on the blackboard and love the idea about us bloggers needing a blackboard!

I will not feel guilty when my "workout" involves sitting in the sauna.

I will watch more episodes of the Simpsons because it's Jared's favorite show.

(And I'm also going to follow Erin's blackboard post...) I will not use pay day as a reason to buy myself more clothes!
